Hi all you Jungle dwellers! I've been supporting the Tigers for a good 15 years now and so I've been through the highs (Wembley 92 and the Regal Trophy final where we stuffed the Pie Eaters!!) and the lows (that time under Dave Sampson and the half season before Stuart rescued us).

I think some people don't realise it's pretty much a way of life and you can't beat the buzz of a Sunday afternoon, two pints and a Tigers' victory!! Feel free to write and chew the fat about all things RL!

James Hunt

I am James Hunt, and I am eight years old and am a Junior Tiger.

I love playing and watching rugby and I am currently playing for Knottingley under eights. I live in Normanton

Tom Wood

E-Mail : T.Wood-bs1g1757@lmu.ac.uk

Alright cockers? I'm 18 and at Uni in Leeds.

I've been supporting Cas for about 8 years - The first time I saw them, they lost to Halifax !

Oh well. I can't get to many matches now cos I work on Sunday's but I get to all I can.

Used to be a season ticket holder but again not possible anymore. See ya. Tom Wood, Normanton

Dave Graham

Followed for 10 years - Best match/team performance was Wigan in final at
Headingley

Favourite player Ronnie Gibbs -  you can't buy passion.

The Boys!

Ali Wray - 16, been a Cas fan for less than a year, I became instantly enthralled with the excitement
and atmosphere and bought the shirt and season ticket.

Foxy - 17, from a family of Cas mad fans and have been a Cas fan all my life and have never missed a
game.

Lee -17, been a Tigers fan for many years through thick and thin, and think the best atmosphere was
in the 99 playoffs against Saints.

The boys can usually be found behind the posts at the Wheldon road end, whilst keeping an eye out
for any "cheeky little ladies" and cheering on the Tigers.

Andy Carnegie

I've been watching Cas since 1985/86. Hey, we won the challenge cup in my very first season!

I remember going to the Isle of Man for the Charity Shield, brilliant fun. Since then I've grown up a bit and I'm now 33 and live in Newbury, Berkshire. It's not nice, but the money's good.

A 400 mile round trip most weekends to watch the match is the bane of my life. Oh, and Leeds Whinos :-)

Gareth Main

E-Mail : gazm_2000@yahoo.co.uk

My name's Gareth Main, 16 years old and have been a Cas fan from about SLII or III.

I started going more regularly during SLIV and have got a season ticket at the moment. I'm a Liverpool FC supporter too.

My favorite Cas player of all time is Diesel and I reckon the best signing during Stuart Raper's rule is either Aaron Raper or Dale Fritz.

The best Tigers game in recent times was the game at Wheldon Rd last season vs. Wigan on Sky and my favorite try was Fritzy's vs. the Whinos in the playoff.

Tony Braisby

E-Mail : tony@aktb.demon.co.uk

Hi -- Tony Braisby, 40, grew up in Ferry Fryston a long time ago, exiled in London with a St Helens fan.

Been a fan of Cas for as long as I can remember. best game-- 86 cup final, actually left my brother's wedding to get to Wembley (well what sort of prat gets married on challenge cup final day?) or the 1994 stuffing of the pie eaters in the regal trophy final.

Best players: Hardesty, Reilly, Joyner, Tawera Nikau ( who's just a shadow of his former self now) Lee Crooks (obviously), Danny, Diesel, Aaron and Adrian (second best thing is a pint in the garden house)

Richard Sayner

E-Mail : rsayner@club-internet.fr

My name is Dick Sayner, made in Yorkshire, but now living down here between La Rochelle and Bordeaux, France.

The first time I saw Cas play I was ten, so that was thirty four years ago. I went to Wheldon Road with a pal from school, Colin Laughlin, and his mum and dad in their Ford Anglia.  I would like to thank them for introducing me to THE GREATEST GAME, played by the GREATEST TEAM, bar none.

I played a bit of amateur with Selby, and a few teams in York. I gave up when I was thirty six. I'd never been any good, and I wasn't getting any better.

The 1969  Wembley final was a good game and a memorable experience ..A guy in front of me asked 'Where's your rosette ?' I told him that I didn't have one, so he said ' You'd better have mine then' .

Things like that stick in a little lad's head, and so did the price I had to pay for a Castleford R.L.F.C Supporters Club badge in that old wooden building where we used to buy soup and Castle crisps at Friday night matches. I've still got that badge though, and money couldn't buy it these days.

Lots of great players have played for Cas, and as we used to climb on the railings near the tunnel, not big enough to see over the top, one who stuck in my mind, apart from Dennis Hartley and Bill Bryant, was Peter Small and his hair. Immaculate before kick-off, and a mess at half-time, but come the second half it was greased down again.

That was then, but before I left England, I was lucky enough to see Lee Crooks play, and alongside Kevin Ward too. Both really great players. Then I saw him wearing a suit in Open Rugby. I don't buy it any more.

I wonder if Norman and his pals still meet at the railway end of the main stand now it's called the Jungle ? Some of his wise-cracks helped keep the cold out, and even Mr. John Holdsworth couldn't keep a straight face.....John Bentley neither,   'Ello, 'ello, 'ello, Bentley ' said Norman. Made Bentley smile too.

To finish, I'd just like to say that instead of loping about in big white trainers, and playing computer-games I hope that lads up there still pick up a rugby ball and drink a drop of good ale now and again.

 That's it then......................C'mon Cas !

Mac

Only just found this site and I think it's great. Known as Mac, I've been supporting Cas for as long as I can remember (but I'm only 18 so no geriatric who can remember unlimited tackles).

Living in Kippax, I come in for some stick from the Loiners who live round here. I therefore love games when we beat the Loiners, and knocking them out of the play-offs last year was my favourite game, both whilst I was watching it and then all through the close season when I could look down upon the scumbags.

My favourite player is probably Adrian Vowles for his crunching tackles (why other players keep running at him is beyond me), but I loved watching "Singe the Minge" when he used to score 30 tries a season, all from Ritchie Blackmore's passes. My least favourite player was a winger called Nelson, nicknamed "the crab" in our house for only ever running sideways.

That's enough of me now, I'm gonna read some of the other people's messages.

Alan Hayden

E-Mail : alanhayden@tinyonline.co.uk

My name is Alan Hayden and I'm a teacher living in York. I've been a fan of Cas since I was about three when my Dad took me to watch Cas play Salford. Malcolm Reilly came on at half-time, Cas won, nuff said and I've been following ever since.

Best match? Wembley '86: I'll never forget Jamie Sandy scurrying in for his try and I'll never know how he got there. The Regal Trophy Final wasn't bad was it, but also the Premiership game at Bradford when we nearly got relegated in Raper's first season. Couldn't beat that for emotion - or when Vowlesy did the first of his career threatening tackles on Danny Peacock.

One of my claims to fame is that I teach with a bloke called Gerry Kershaw (older fan's will remember him). He's now second-in-command to Greg McCallum at RL HQ. He also coaches the referees from the stand and does the video-ref at Sky Matches.

Favourite players? Ronnie Gibbs, 'T', John Joyner and Singe were hard to beat. Now it has to be Danny, Vowlesy and Deano.

John Oakes

Hi, My name is John Oakes and I have been watching Castleford for about 12 years or so and live in Rothwell/Leeds.

My favorite game was when we played Bradford in the play-off on 14th September 1997. I got married the day before the game and had to postponed the honeymoon until the following day so I could go to Bradford and watch the Tigers win, what a great day out it was. Ps the Wife stopped at home, sorry I can not recall the score.

Also any time that we beat Leeds, although I live in Leeds I hate to see Leeds win even if they are playing another team.

Steve Fenton

'Ullo, I'm an exiled Cas fan, now a young 49 years old (born in Cas, but living in Aberdeen since '86 - Thank God for Sky Sports, eh !).

I'm currently working in Houston, so this site is a great way of keeping abreast of what's happening with the team.

Cheers, Steve

Greetings one and all,

My name is Matt Carr and I've been an avid Cas fan for as long as I can remember (30 odd years). I'm originally from Kippax but now live in sunny Melbourne (via Bristol, Leicester and Sydney!). Mark's homepage is a bit of a lifeline for me.

The best games I ever saw were the '86 cup final, the '94 Regal final and that memorable occasion down the lane in '84 (I think) when we stuffed the Loiners 54 - 6 (I think). Anyhow, they were leading the league at the time which only doubled the enjoyment. Funny how those memories stick, innit?

Favourite player has to be Mal Reilly.

I'm a member of Melbourne Storm, who play a great free-flowing style of footy and did us all a favour by winning the premiership last year and sticking it up the Sydneysiders.
