Hull KR 46 Castleford 18
Hull KR sent another warning to
promotion favourites Castleford with a second victory in a month over the LHF
Healthplan National League leaders.
Third-placed Rovers got the better
of the Tigers in a tight Northern Rail Cup final and bettered that with a 46-18
win at Craven Park.
Byron Ford, Leroy Rivett, Paul
Mansson, Dwayne Barker, Andy Ellis, James Webster, Mark Blanchard and Dale
Holdstock were all on the scoresheet as the dominant Robins moved within two
points of their Yorkshire rivals.
Jordan James, Waine Pryce and Andy
Kain were the Tigers' tryscorers.
But National League One remains
very much a three-horse race after Whitehaven moved level with the Tigers with a
36-16 win over Oldham at the Recreation Ground.

Castleford 40 Featherstone 6
Match Report Taken from the Excellent
Castigers.net
site run by
Stuart Main
A week off and a slightly
reshuffled side seem to have done wonders for the Tigers. Looking uncertain and
ragged even in victory two weeks ago they looked incisive and assured this week
as they cooly dispatched local rivals Featherstone 40-6. Aaron Smith returned
but at hooker with Andy Henderson moved to number 7 and Andy Kain starting from
the bench. Michael Shenton scored a try of the season contender to open the
scoring for the afternoon. Tommy Haughey contributed 2 tries whilst Waine Pryce
extended his tally to 29. There was also a well taken try for Damien Blanch -
his second in two appearances.

Batley 12 Castleford 54
Second rower Tom Haughey also
scored a hat-trick of tries as pre-season promotion favourites Castleford were
condemned to second place despite ending the regular campaign with a 54-12 win
at relegation-threatened Batley.
Haughey's support play and
powerful running brought him two touchdowns in the first half and another after
the break.
There was also a two-try display
from prop Adam Watene while other scores came from Wayne Pryce, Andy Cain,
Jordan James, Jon Hepworth and Brad Davis.
Batley, who must win the League
Two play-offs to keep their current status, had the consolation of scoring the
try of the match when threequarters Steve Jones and Jamie Stokes combined over
50 metres to provide a touchdown for Jones.
