3 Michael Eagar

D.O.B. 15.8.75
One of the Tigers most consistent
performers since joining the club from Warrington four years ago. The
Aussie's defensive qualities were well known but since joining the
Tigers he has been a regular tryscorer as well, establishing himself as
one of Super League's best all round centres.
Mike joined the Wolves from South
Queensland but it is over here in England where he has really risen to
prominence. His Irish ancestry won him a place in the last World Cup
competition paving the way for his international debut. A previous
member of the Super League ‘Dream Team.’ |
6 Danny Orr
(CAPTAIN)

D.O.B. 17.5.78
One of the clubs and Super League's
brightest young stars. Danny has established a big reputation over the
past few seasons and was appointed as the Tigers skipper for 2002. The
burden of captaincy didn’t affect Danny’s form and he was an ever
present throughout Super League VIII.
Danny has represented Yorkshire in the
last couple of years Origin series and won England caps against France
in 1999. He was unlucky to miss out of the 2001 Great Britain Ashes
squad due to injury but gained his due reward for his patience last year
when he was included in the GB squad that faced the New Zealand
tourists. Two impressive substitute appearances against the Kiwis
suggest that there will be more representative calls to come.
A prolific point scorer and good all
round kicker, Danny developed with local junior side Kippax ARL before
joining the Tigers Academy set up and as a forerunner to his full
international honours he captained the Great Britain Academy side. |

7 Mitch Healey

In his third season with the Tigers
Mitch has been a very consistent performer for the club, showing the
quality that he had demonstrated throughout his long illustrious
career with the Cronulla Sharks in Australia where he was rated as one
of his country’s best uncapped scrum halves. An excellent kicker and
can really make teams pay with his punishing 40/20 kicks.
But Mitch has plenty of other strings
to his bow working hard on both attack and defence. He is firmly
established himself as a crucial member of the Tigers team and will be
the clubs vice-captain in 2003. |
9 Wayne Bartrim

9.10.71
Signed from St George-Illawarra ahead of the 2002
season, Wayne had a tremendous first season for the Tigers. His goal kicking was
top class but that was far from his only forte.
A hard working defender with the ability to break
open defences, Wayne confirmed the high reputation that he had achieved in a
very impressive career Down Under. There he won State of Origin honours for
Queensland and test caps for his country.
Equally at home in the hooking role or at loose
forward, Wayne appeared in the NRL Grand Final with the Dragons having joined
them from the Gold Coast club. |

12 Dale Fritz
(VICE CAPTAIN)

D.O.B. 18.11.69
One of Super League’s best tacklers. Dale
has never given less than 100% to the Tigers cause since signing in
advance of Super League IV. In that first year Dale won the clubs
player-of-the-year award and hasn’t let his standards drop below that
level.
Firmly established as the cornerstone of
the Tigers pack Dale sets a high level and is a great example to the
younger players coming through.
He signed from North Queensland and
before that he had spells with Illawarra and Perth Reds. Originally a
stand- off, Dale switched to the back row, and in 1993 made the
Queensland State of Origin squad, although missed out on final
selection.

14 Andy Johnson

D.O.B.
14.6.74
A Wigan product who joined the Warriors
his first professional club from Wigan St Patrick’s ARL. He left his
hometown club for London, spending two years with the Broncos before
switching to the Tigers ahead of Super League VII.
Andy is a classy player with a good turn
of pace who has proved himself to be equally at home in the three
quarters or back-row.

22 Mark Lennon

D.O.B.
17.8.80
A surprise package in 2001, Mark made rapid
strides after joining the Tigers as a relative unknown from Australia year. He
showed tremendous attacking skills and at the end of 2001 he was a very
deserving nominee for the Super leagues young player of the year award.
Last year was quieter for Mark as he overcame a
couple of niggling injury problems but he remains a very dangerous attacking
player.
With a Welsh mother Mark has a British Passport
and therefore not on the overseas quota, but this also paved the way for his
representative debut, for Wales against England at Wrexham in 2001 and he again
represented the Principality when they hosted the New Zealand tourists last
year.
Mark had played with both Cronulla and the St
George/ Illawarra Dragons before joining the Tigers. Mark is a good kicker and
has the versatility to play in a variety of positions in the back line. |
